Hawaii-Hilo Sweeps Tennis Duals with MSU Billings (April 8, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – In a tune-up
match for the Pacific West Conference tennis
championships, Hawaii-Hilo won both men’s and
women’s duals with MSU Billings on Tuesday. In the 4-1 format, the Vulcans
won the #1, #2 and #3 singles matches as well as the
doubles match to defeat the Yellowjackets men’s team
4-1. Andres Calabro earned the Jackets’ only win,
prevailing 6-2, 6-4 at #4 singles. UH-Hilo cruised
through their match for a 5-0 victory. MSU Billings
will face BYU-Hawaii on Wednesday with the women’s
match starting at 10:00 a.m. and the men’s match
immediately following.
