MSU Billings Men’s Golf Team Competing at Bronco
Roundup in Boise (October 11,
2002)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana
State University-Billings men’s golf team will
compete in its third event of the fall on October 14
and 15 when the Yellowjackets travel to the Bronco
Roundup in Boise, Idaho. Coach Dave Doherty will be
taking five players to the 54-hole tournament that
features seven Division I and three Division II
teams.
The Yellowjackets will be
competing against Boise State, Idaho, Idaho State,
Southern Utah, Weber State, Gonzaga, Utah State,
Albertson College, and Northwest Nazarene.
The five players Doherty will
take to the tournament are Eric Staab, Kevin Davis, Bryan Barthelmess, Chris Haas, and Matt Desin.
Davis won the PC/NSU Tournament in Aberdeen, SD in
September with a 74 and is averaging a 79 so far
this fall. Staab is averaging 80, Barthelmess is
averaging 80, and Desin is averaging 82.5. It will
be the first meet for Haas.
Doherty also announced this
week that the Yellowjackets will host a tournament
on October 20 at Pryor Creek Golf Club. Rocky
Mountain College and Miles City Community College
are currently scheduled to attend. |
