MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings has announced its 2018-2019 Associated Students of MSU Billings (ASMSUB) student leaders after the students were elected March 21-22. Students elected Halle Keltner and Savannah Merritt as president and vice president.

Of the 4,322 students registered for the spring semester, a total of 104 students voted in the election, or 2.4 percent.

Keltner, a political science major from Beulah, ND, is determined to building a better experience for all students at MSUB. “I will prioritize engagement on campus and help maintain the strong sense of community we have,” she said.

The junior, who has experience serving as a senator, said that she has seen great achievements in the past, and wishes to continue that legacy.

Savannah Merritt, a sophomore at MSUB studying chemistry and biology, is also no stranger to leadership roles. “I have a passion for this campus and the things that can be achieved here, and I hope to share that with all students.”

The Cheyenne, WY native currently serves as the ASMSUB Student Resolution Officer, and strives to continue her involvement in student government.

In addition to releasing the names of the new president and vice president, eight University senators and a City College senator were elected as well.
