MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The unmistakable atmosphere of a summer carnival — complete with obstacles, a dunk tank, food and family fun — will fill the air at this year’s Summerfest at Montana State University Billings.
Summerfest Activities

The university’s 34th annual community celebration will be held June 30, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on the grounds of the university campus at 1500 University. Festivities will be held on the lawn between McMullen Hall and the Student Union Building.

Composed of all things that make summer fun, Summerfest is a free, family-oriented event open to all. An inflatable bouncer, a 40-foot obstacle with a slide, a bungee run, a dunk tank, face painting and jousting will highlight this year’s Summerfest.

“Summerfest truly is one of the greatest community events we hold on campus,” Lauren Stafford, chair of the Student Activities Board, said. “It offers a great opportunity for the community of Billings to connect with MSUB while having a fun time."

New to this year is a silent auction to benefit Relay for Life as well a variety of emergency response vehicles on display for families and kids to get a photo taken with.

For those looking for eats, free cotton candy and snow cones will be available while they last. A barbecue picnic costs $5 a plate.

Co-sponsored by the university’s Student Activities Board and the Associated Students of MSU Billings, the event is free and open to the community. For more Summerfest information, call the Student Activities Board at 657-2319 or Lacey Solheid, student engagement coordinator, at 657-2320.
