In the UHP Capstone, students tackle a significant problem in Billings or in a Billings organization. This research and community-based project course enables students to apply and further develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills as part of an interdisciplinary team. It also provides a laboratory for furthering understanding of social and economic problems.
I wanted to highly recommend the capstone course that I took last spring. With 5 other classmates, we set out last spring to take an in-depth look at the hunger problem in Billings. What we discovered was a lack of information and communication on the issue – various community agencies all doing their own thing in trying to solve the hunger problem.
