Program Director's Invitation
Accelerate your emergency services career by obtaining an associates degree in paramedicine. The 1776-hour paramedic degree program utilizes online, hybrid, traditional classroom, and skills laboratory delivery methods to ensure a flexible but rigorous educational experience. The clinical internships provide an array of patient care experience, which include emergency, anesthesiology, critical care, pulmonary, obstetrics, pediatrics, flight, fire, and ambulance. Furthermore, students may choose to take pre-requisites classes entirely online, on campus, or through transfer of coursework from previous institutions.
The paramedic core classes and hospital and field internships run from September through August. Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certifications are included in the curriculum. Graduates are eligible for the NREMT Paramedic certification examination process.
The paramedic program is housed in the health sciences building at City College MSUB. This provides you with the small campus atmosphere of City College, but also allows you the luxury of resources that only a larger university can provide. Financial aid, housing, and VA benefits are available to qualified students. We also offer an online BAS degree with a thematic concentration in EMS management.
Finally, I would like to share with you the qualities that I will bring to the classroom as the paramedic program director. I have been a paramedic since 1977 and director of paramedic programs since 1985. My teaching philosophy revolves around student needs and bridging classroom instruction to real street application. Additionally, I serve as a nationally recognized lecturer, author, expert witness and consultant for prehospital emergency medicine.
If you are truly serious about advancing your career, send for an application packet today. It will be the best professional decision you can make. Pre-requisite classes are available throughout the academic year.
