STAT 217 Intermediate Statistical Concepts
Prerequisite: STAT 216
Covers one and two sample tests and associated confidence intervals for means and proportions; one-way analysis of variance; F-tests; multiple comparisons; correlation; contingency tables; and distribution-free methods. Emphasizes statistical analysis using the computer.
Conduct simple descriptive and inferential statistical analysis such as confidence intervals and hypothesis testing of proportion, mean and variance,
perform and interpret one-way ANOVA,
perform and interpret two-way ANOVA,
perform simple and multiple linear regression analysis and and interpret the result,
perform chi-square tests and interpret their results, and
- use computer software packages such as SPSS to perform descriptive and inferential data analysis.
